The Oltrepò Pavese is an area that holds unique natural and cultural treasures, and thanks to «camminandoinoltrepo», a social page dedicated to promoting local excursions, we can immerse ourselves in the beauty of this land. In particular, the page has accompanied us to discover the ‘Sentieri Uniti’ (United Paths), a project that unites eight villages in a route through verdant hills, endless vineyards and fascinating historical views.
The ‘Sentieri Uniti - I percorsi turistici dell‘Oltrepò Pavese’ (United Paths - The tourist routes of the Oltrepò Pavese area) project was born from the collaboration of eight municipalities: Pietra de‘ Giorgi, Mornico Losana, Oliva Gessi, Torricella Verzate, Santa Giuletta, Redavalle, Cigognola and Lirio. The aim is to enhance and promote the area‘s rich historical and natural heritage through 50 kilometres of cycling and walking routes, where every step offers breathtaking views.
Walking through centuries-old vineyards and villages steeped in history, visitors can admire ancient castles perched on hilltops, small churches and enjoy tasty food and wine stops, where local traditions merge with the pleasures of the palate.
The ‘United Paths’ are divided into three main routes, each with its own distinctive characteristics:
1. Route 315A (loop): This circular route passes through the villages of Oliva Gessi, Mornico Losana, Torricella Verzate and Santa Giuletta. A route immersed in the gentle hills of the area, ideal for those who want to discover these villages in close contact with nature.
2. Route 315B (loop): Another loop route that includes the villages of Pietra de‘ Giorgi, Redavalle, Cigognola and Santa Giuletta, offering an equally evocative experience amidst vineyards and hilly landscapes that look like paintings.
3. Route 315 (linear): This is the most demanding route, with its 11 km connecting Santa Giuletta to Lirio. Although more tiring, it repays every effort with extraordinary views and the satisfaction of having crossed one of the most fascinating hearts of the Oltrepò.
The ‘Sentieri Uniti’ (United Paths) project is the result of a strong synergy between the participating municipalities, united by the desire to bring out the local beauty and give new impetus to tourism. Thanks to this collaboration, hikers can enjoy well-marked trails and a complete experience that mixes nature, culture and food and wine traditions.
‘camminandoinoltrepo’ has already accompanied us on the discovery of these routes, recounting the essence of each path through images and detailed descriptions. It is an invitation open to all those who want to explore the Oltrepò Pavese in an authentic and sustainable way, walking among its hills and letting themselves be conquered by its history and flavours.
