We are excited to announce that «camminandoinoltrepo», the social page dedicated to enhancing and helping people discover the paths of the Oltrepò Pavese area, will once again accompany us on a new adventure to discover our magnificent territory.
This time the excursion will take us along Trail 315A of the Sentieri Uniti, an itinerary that stretches for 19.4 km and will require about 6 hours of walking, offering an immersive experience among the hills, villages and vineyards of the Oltrepò. The start and finish are set in Torricella Verzate in Via S.L. Versiglia, and the route will lead us along mixed roads, perfect for admiring the area‘s natural and historical beauty.
From the departure car park, we will follow CAI/SentieriUniti signs no. 315A in the direction of Bosco Madio Superiore. After passing the crossroads in the centre of the village, we will take the path that opens out to our left. Without taking any detours, we will pass through places such as Casa Bozzi and the hamlet of Cordona, then turn right at the crossroads and continue towards the hamlet of Casa Ferrari. From there, we will reach Oliva Gessi, an ancient hamlet renowned for its charming rural buildings and elegant palace.
Continuing on, we will pass the junction for Località Occhio and enter a sheep-track that will lead us towards the hamlets of Rosso, Quintiana, Losana and as far as the Provincial Road. We will follow the road to the right and, at the fork for Mornico/Oliva, we will take the path to the left until we reach Mornico Losana, another picturesque hamlet dominated by its impressive castle.
After admiring the castle, we descend towards the square and continue along the Strada dei Pragoni until we reach the Strada Provinciale della Valsorda. Following the signs for Monte Campone, we will arrive in the vicinity of Casa Parentela, from where a beautiful country road starts that will take us to Strada Isimbarda. Here, those who have already walked along path 315 can turn left and head towards the Isimbarda estate, or continue towards SV Travaglina/Fraccia, ending the stretch at Cascina Struggia.
Finally, when we reach the Castle of Santa Giuletta, we take the path down the hill towards the ruined Cascina Fontana. From here, following fascinating panoramic cart tracks through the vineyards, we will return to Torricella Verzate, where we will conclude our excursion with a visit to the Sanctuary, a place steeped in history and spirituality.
It should be noted that, on consulting the map, the route back to the starting point involves passing through a closed private property. Therefore, it will be necessary to return to the Provincial Road and follow it to the car park.
This excursion offers a perfect opportunity to enjoy the hilly landscape and discover the traditions and history of the small villages along the way. The Oltrepò Pavese never ceases to amaze with its enchanting paths, and ‘camminandoinoltrepo’ is here to help us discover every corner of this splendid territory.
