Nestled in the charming village of Fortunago, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, the Municipal Auditorium, dedicated to Senator Giovanni Azzaretti, is a symbol of rebirth and development for the entire Oltrepò Pavese area. Constructed between 2010 and 2019, the building is not only an architectural landmark, but also an engine for tourist, cultural and economic promotion, aimed at making the beauty of the area shine.

Arriving at the Auditorium, one comes across a large square that resembles an open-air stage, with a semi-circular seating arrangement on the north side, framed by the picturesque backdrop of the village. The design of the building combined modern elements and traditional materials, such as marble and reclaimed stone from the Malaspina Castle, to create a refined and evocative atmosphere.

The Auditorium, with its 3000 square metres, is divided into various rooms, each designed to meet different needs, but all connected by an aesthetic and functional thread. The illuminated staircases and cascading chandeliers add a touch of elegance, and the red velvet armchairs evoke the magnificence of historic theatres such as La Scala in Milan.

The building has three main levels, each designed to host events of a different nature. On the first floor, the main hall, known as the ‘Auditorium’, is equipped for musical, opera and theatre performances. With a capacity of over 500 seats, the hall has a large stage with a stage tower. It is an ideal space to host large-scale performances in an intimate yet spectacular setting.

On the ground floor is a multipurpose hall with a capacity of 400 seats. Thanks to the possibility of connecting it by video with the main hall, this space lends itself perfectly for conventions, art exhibitions, and conferences, creating a flexible and technologically advanced environment. The ground floor also houses a refreshment room with a fully equipped kitchen, ideal for organising catering and banquets during special events, conferences or cultural events.

On the second floor, a refined hall with large arched windows overlooks the fountain square. This elegant and airy space is designed for convivial meetings, breaks during events or networking moments.

The Fortunago Municipal Auditorium is not only an example of architectural excellence, but also a hub for the area‘s cultural and tourist life. With its capacity to host events of various kinds - from theatrical performances to professional meetings, from art exhibitions to opera concerts - the Auditorium is a fundamental tool for the relaunch and development of the Oltrepò Pavese territory.

The stylistic choices, such as the use of fine materials and refined architectural details, together with the functional versatility of the spaces, make this structure unique. It is a place where the history of the village meets the present and the future, offering residents and visitors a high-level cultural experience in a natural setting of great beauty.
