In the picturesque setting of the Pavia Apennines, the picturesque village of Brallo di Pregola is preparing to host the 51st edition of the renowned Potato Festival. This event, scheduled for 7 and 8 September 2024, is not only a celebration of the local agricultural culture, but also a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the culinary traditions and warmth of the community.
The festival kicks off on Saturday evening with an event that promises to make young and old go wild: the ‘Dj Set Disco Patata’. On Sunday, 8 September, the heart of the festival moves to Piazza del Municipio, where from 10.00 a.m. local producers‘ stands will display their treasure: the Brallo potatoes. These tubers, carefully cultivated in the mountainous lands of the area, are famous for their quality and are the main ingredient of many traditional recipes.
The square will be animated not only by the sale of potatoes, but also by a wide range of typical local products, offering visitors the opportunity to taste and buy local delicacies. From honey to cheeses, via cured meats and preserves, each stand tells a story of passion and dedication to the land.
The highlight of the day will certainly be the tasting lunch organised by the Pro Loco and the Alpini del Brallo, with the support of Azienda Agricola La Montagnola. Under the marquee set up in the square, guests will be able to enjoy potato gnocchi, prepared with fresh and genuine ingredients. The soft and tasty gnocchi will be dressed with different sauces, offering a culinary experience that enhances the simplicity and goodness of local ingredients.
This lunch is not only a tribute to the gastronomic tradition of Brallo di Pregola, but also an opportunity to experience a moment of conviviality, sharing a meal with friends, family and the entire community.
