Five days of free events with internationally renowned artists, dedicated to music, culture and the enhancement of the territory, for an immersive experience between tradition and innovation.

The Varzi Festival, now in its second edition, will be held from 4 to 8 September in the charming medieval village of Varzi, in the Staffora Valley. This event, conceived and organised by ItaliaFestival in collaboration with the Municipality of Varzi, is distinguished by a schedule full of cultural and artistic events ranging from music to food and wine, involving prominent personalities and promoting the values of eco-sustainability and Made in Italy.

The Festival opens on Wednesday 4 September with the screening of the documentary ‘L‘avamposto’ (The Outpost) by Edoardo Morabito, followed by a debate on environmental issues. In the evening, the Malaspina Castle Garden will host a tribute concert to Giacomo Puccini, performed by the Puccini Festival Orchestra, with the participation of international artists such as tenor Vincenzo Costanzo and soprano Marina Medici.

This concert represents a perfect combination of innovation and tradition, highlighting the festival‘s intention to enhance the territory through unique experiences.

Friday 6 September will be dedicated to food and wine with a series of events organised by the Federazione Italiana Cuochi. These include two masterclasses led by renowned chefs and a talk show focusing on sustainability and the promotion of typical local products. The day will end with the screening of a docufilm dedicated to the village of Varzi, which tells its history and traditions.

On Saturday 7 September, the exploration of the local food and wine heritage will continue with a tasting of culinary excellence in the Malaspina Castle Garden.
