The ‘Dimore e Borghi‘ project, part of the 2014-2020 RDP of the Lombardy Region, has come to an end. In cooperation, the Oltrepò Pavese, Risorsa Lomellina and Terre del Po LAGs worked to increase the attractiveness of rural territories and enhance their tourist value.
‘Dimore e Borghi‘, the cooperation project implemented within the framework of the 2014-2020 RDP of the Lombardy Region that has seen the Oltrepò Pavese LAG working together in partnership with the Risorsa Lomellina LAG and the Terre del Po LAG, has come to an end. The aim was to understand how to promote the attractiveness of rural territories and enhance their tourist value.
"The project," says LAG Oltrepò Pavese President Bruno Tagliani, "is just a starting point that has allowed us to carry out a very thorough scientific analysis that will be useful in managing, in an optimal way, the local development strategy put in place by our LAG for the 2023-2027 programming period.
Thanks to the qualitative-quantitative analysis carried out by The European House - Ambrosetti on a significant sample of residents in the Milanese metropolitan area (over 300), there is a clear perception of the concept of quality of life in rural areas, the level of attractiveness, the macro-areas of intervention needed to relaunch our territory as a tourist destination, but also - and above all - how to characterise Oltrepò as a place to move to.
The path undertaken has also made it possible to promote the Oltrepò Pavese at a national level, to involve young people in the process of enhancing the villages, and to initiate the creation of a synergic system capable of intercepting initiatives and investments, in order to increase interest in the area. The initiatives include workshops in schools, press tours, meetings and round tables with different categories of territorial actors - from administrators to the tourism sector, passing through culture and services - a conference with citizens and various communication and awareness-raising activities.
Thanks to the project, a promotional video with an emotional slant was also produced, entitled ‘Dimore e Borghi: places to rediscover and live slowly‘. "This digital content," says the director of GAL Oltrepò Elisabetta Antoniazzi, "aims to highlight all the key elements that characterise our territory: unspoilt nature, tranquillity, authenticity, slow rhythms, a positive sociality, to the point of emphasising the many peculiarities that make it a unique and special place to experience as visitors and as residents.
