The Oltrepò Pavese holds within it natural treasures of great charm: its small waterfalls. These natural jewels, easily accessible through the paths that wind through the territory, offer visitors an immersive experience in the nature and history of this region.

Rivarolo Waterfalls

In the municipality of Romagnese, located in Alta Val Tidone, are the Cascate del Rivarolo waterfalls, one of the hidden wonders of the Oltrepò Pavese. To reach them, start out from the village of Romagnese and follow a path that runs along the Rivarolo Torrent. Along the way, three waterfalls are encountered:

- Mirei di Ghios

- La Pra:

- Masapè

Waterfalls of Sant‘Ettore

In the municipality of Brallo di Pregola, the Avagnone Torrent is a little-known but fascinating little watercourse. Along the path leading to Rovaiolo Vecchio, an abandoned village in the Oltrepò Pavese area, there are several artificial waterfalls. These waterfalls fit harmoniously into the natural landscape.

Morcione waterfalls

At Crociglia, a small hamlet in the municipality of Zavattarello, the Rio Morcione has created a series of spectacular waterfalls. Among them, one of the most impressive is a waterfall of about 100 metres.

The Morcione waterfalls are the result of erosion of the marine sedimentary rocks of Monte Calenzone, known as marls. These formations, consisting of clay cemented by limestone, create an interesting geological landscape.

The small waterfalls of the Oltrepò Pavese offer a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in nature and discover hidden corners of great beauty. Following the paths through this territory, every hiker can experience an unforgettable adventure, amid spectacular landscapes and historical evidence. A journey that enriches the spirit and brings one closer to nature in an authentic and engaging way.
