There are several factors that attract many tourists to the Oltrepò Pavese: the excellent local products, the beautiful historic villages surrounded by greenery and nature, the famous wine and food production and the enchanting landscapes offered in this area
The sensation one gets when crossing the Oltrepò Pavese is that of a healthy and clean environment, rich in biodiversity and a quality landscape heritage, suitable for sustainable tourism that respects nature, where the hilly landscape is furrowed by vineyards, interrupted only by villages, some of which proudly and naturally highlight their origins as farming villages.
The economy of this area is based in part on the cultivation of vines for the production of wine, on the local production of cheeses and other excellent products such as honey, saffron and lavender, without neglecting the typical cold cuts, well known even outside this territory.
The characteristics referred to belong as much to the territory as to its industrious inhabitants who, in spite of a prolonged period of crisis, have never ceased their efforts and who now seek to take possession, in a renewed key, of their agricultural traditions and the typical hospitable spirit of our valleys in order to once again attract those tourist flows that years ago were characteristic of the summer and autumn season in our hills and that, in many cases, drove people to invest in second homes, especially the Milanese.
The landscape scenery offered by the Oltrepò Pavese does not require intervention, as it is a natural gift of this geographical area. Many accommodation facilities, on the other hand, that have suffered the neglect of time, have recently been investing in renovations and modernisation in order to keep up with the times and provide tourists with an unforgettable experience. Greater respect for the environment, cost containment and the various requests from customers represent a priority that entrepreneurs cannot deviate from.
The Oltrepò is not only a region rich in natural beauty, but also represents an interesting investment opportunity. To miss this opportunity would be a shame! To support existing operators there are numerous subsidised finance opportunities made available by the Ministry of Tourism or numerous non-repayable contributions made available by the Lombardy Region.
