The Oltrepò Pavese area, a land of unspoilt natural beauty and breathtaking landscapes, continues to amaze and fascinate hiking enthusiasts with a new exciting and evocative route: ‘Scollinando tra le valli Scuropasso e Versa‘.
"camminandoinoltrepo" will once again accompany us to discover breathtaking routes. This itinerary, 13.1 kilometres long and with a duration of about 2 hours and 40 minutes, promises authentic emotions along a mixed route that combines scenic beauty with the thrill of exploration.
Starting in Broni, from the picturesque Piazza Cagnoni, walk along Via Fratelli Bandiera and Via Cattaneo, then turn left into Via Mazzini and continue straight ahead into Via Regione Gioiello. Before reaching the roundabout, turn left into Via Vallescuropasso, a starting point for an adventure that promises to be unforgettable.
Along the way, views follow one another, offering breathtaking glimpses and unique sensations. Crossing the hamlet of Valle Cima and following the signs for ‘Domus Paradisi‘, you enter a lane that leads to the discovery of hidden treasures. Casa Bazzini, at the height of the b&b Alberto di Karta, proves to be an unmissable stop, enriched by the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Continuing towards Frazione Colombarone, the Pesa di Canneto Pavese crossroads marks an important turning point in the route. From here, we head towards Fornace, with a downhill road leading to Vergomberra, passing through a characteristic village. A pit stop at Paolo Bruno Verdi Wines offers the opportunity to sample local flavours and recharge your batteries before continuing the adventure.
Having taken the dirt road coming out of the opposite side of Vergomberra, we venture into the valley, with a path to the right leading to the charming hamlet of Monteveneroso. Here, the asphalt road invites you to a short descent, followed by a diversion to the left that leads along Via Morsinga. The atmosphere of old farmhouses and enchanting landscapes accompanies every step, making the experience unique and unforgettable.
Having reached Vigalone, the asphalt road leads us to a new stage of the journey. An unpaved road, followed by a cart-track to the right, finally leads us to Canneto, crossing evocative landscapes and vineyards that are lost in the horizon. From here, the route winds through picturesque streets, such as Via del Torchio and Via Sabbione, until it crosses the Provincial Road.
Montuè, with its characteristic village, is another picturesque stop along the way. Taking the sheep-track that leads into the Valli di Recoaro park, one enters an oasis of peace and tranquillity, skirting springs and vineyards that frame the route with their natural beauty.
Continuing along the route, we reach the summit of Mount S. Contardo, from which there is a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. The descent between the first houses of Broni marks the conclusion of an extraordinary adventure, enriched by the discovery of evocative places and the unspoilt beauty of nature.
