Hidden in the folds of the Ligurian-Piedmontese Apennines, Mount Lesima rises majestically, offering adventurers spectacular views and an immersive experience in unspoilt nature. At 1270 metres high, Lesima not only towers above the Antola mountain range, but also offers an enchanting view stretching as far as the Gulf of Tigullio, only 40 kilometres away as the crow flies.

A Paradise for Hikers

Monte Lesima has long been a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers, attracted by the many access routes leading to its summit and the extraordinary views of the Ligurian coast, the Alps and the surrounding valleys. Thanks to well-marked and well-maintained trails, hikers can explore this natural jewel via various routes. One of the most attractive starting points is the hamlet of Brallo di Pregola, Rovaiolo Vecchio, which offers a fascinating and adventurous trail.

The start of the trail is an invitation to immerse oneself in the lush nature of the Apennines, crossing centuries-old woods and expanses of meadows dotted with wild flowers. Along the way, the panorama gradually opens up, offering breathtaking views of the Ligurian coast and the valleys below. For those who prefer an easier approach, it is possible to walk along the private road that connects the Giovà pass with the Brallo pass, up to the radar, from where one can enjoy unparalleled views.

Other hikers can opt for the itinerary that begins in the picturesque locality of Zerba, immersed in the Boreca Valley, in the province of Piacenza.

Here, amidst wild trails and enchanting views, adventure is ready to surprise at every step. Protecting and Enhancing Nature In 2016, the Region of Lombardy established the Le Torraie-Monte Lesima Nature Reserve, a biodiversity oasis located in the municipality of Brallo di Pregola.

With a surface area of approximately 588 hectares, this reserve is carefully managed by the Province of Pavia, which is committed to preserving its unique and precious ecosystem. The main objective of the reserve is to protect and enhance the mountainous Oltrepò Pavese as an area of fundamental importance for the conservation of biodiversity. Here, hundreds of hectares of beech and hornbeam forests create an ideal habitat for many plant and animal species, contributing to the ecological richness of the area. An Unforgettable Experience Monte Lesima enchants not only with its natural beauty and the hiking opportunities it offers, but also with its distinctive symbols.

These include an imposing air navigation radar, as well as a large crucifix, which has become iconic of the mountain and the faith of its visitors. In an increasingly hectic world, Monte Lesima represents an oasis of peace and serenity, where time seems to dilate and nature reigns supreme. Exploring its paths, breathing the fresh air of its forests and admiring the breathtaking views from its summit is an experience that remains etched in the heart of anyone lucky enough to cross its borders.

Mount Lesima, where the sea is closer and the paths open onto the Alps and valleys, continues to be a coveted destination for nature and adventure lovers, a place where the wild beauty of the Apennines blends harmoniously with the majesty of the sea, creating a unique and unforgettable combination.
