In the heart of the splendid Oltrepò Pavese region, there is a place where art and nature embrace in an incredible symphony of colours and creativity. The Azienda Vitivinicola Ca‘ del Gè di Montalto Pavese took the opportunity to distinguish itself and offer a unique experience to visitors, enriching its Pinot Nero Costa del Vento vineyards with a truly extraordinary art installation: giant coloured pencils.

The idea of transforming the vineyard rows into an open-air gallery came from the ingenuity of artist Aldo Divano, who found the inspiration during a trip to Laos. Observing children playing with simple sticks, the artist had an epiphany: why not bring this simple joy and creativity into the context of Italian vineyards?

The result is simply astonishing. The giant pencils, ranging from 50 cm to 3 metres in height, stand out among the vines, adding a touch of liveliness and fantasy to the rural landscape. Made with great care and patience, these works of art are a tribute to the beauty of nature and human creativity.

But the art of the Ca‘ del Gè vineyards is not limited to giant pencils. The winery offers a complete experience for visitors, who can immerse themselves in the culture of wine through guided tours of the cellars, tastings of the fine local wines and walks through the vineyards that turn into a veritable open-air exhibition.

To find this enchanting artistic spectacle, simply follow the signs for Ca‘ del Gè and go straight past the winery. In a short time, an extraordinary panorama will appear on the right, where art and nature come together in a perfect union. And if you wish to further extend the experience, the nearby Panchina Gigante gialla di Montalto Pavese offers another unmissable stop on your journey through the Oltrepò.

This project shows how important it is for farms not only to produce excellent wine, but also to enhance the area and offer unique experiences to visitors. The giant pencils in the Ca‘ del Gè vineyards are a perfect example of how art can enrich and transform a landscape, inviting people to look at the world with new eyes full of wonder.
