In the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, amidst hills of vineyards and unspoilt natural environments, lies a jewel yet to be discovered: Stradella. "camminandinoltrepo" will immerse us in the enchanting landscape of this region, rich in natural treasures and breathtaking views.
This time our journey takes us along the evocative route of the Versa stream, among the hills of vineyards and the luxuriant Bosco Negri, an authentic heritage of spontaneous and cultivated flora. The Oltrepò Pavese boasts an extraordinary biodiversity, with over 1,871 species of wild vascular plants, of which more than 450 in the San Zeno region alone, making every step an opportunity to immerse oneself in the most authentic nature.
Our starting and finishing point is the San Zeno car park, from where a route begins along an asphalted road, which is easy and usable in all seasons. We head towards the Azienda Cima Spa, passing through the picturesque hamlets of Molino Quaroni and Molino Folla to the junction with Provincial Road 43 for Montù Beccaria.
For lovers of breathtaking views and dirt tracks, it is possible to extend the hike by following two alternative routes.
The first itinerary takes us towards Frazione Casa Bianca. From here, at the "Cima", we take the Provincial Road to the left towards Montù Beccaria, as far as Frazione Casa Bianca. We turn left towards Frazione Torretta, continuing towards Casa del Pozzo-Frazione Porcarano. In Località Torrino di Sopra at the crossroads we turn left towards Casa Testagallo and then continue for 250 m in Località Canonica and enter the path between the houses on the left. From here we descend through the vineyards to the asphalt road and return to our starting point.
The second route takes us towards Frazione Tessarole. At the crossroads with Provincial Road 43 for Montù Beccaria, we turn left for Frazione Tessarole. Here, at the hairpin bend, we take the path that can be glimpsed between the houses in front of us. After a short downhill stretch, we will see the entire road below us on the plain. We continue along the path past an old farmhouse and around a small wood until we reach Frazione Casa Bianca, from where we continue as per the previous itinerary.
