New opportunities for the territory and local entrepreneurship come through the non-repayable contributions made available by the Lombardy Region. Local administrations wishing to promote events in the area may participate in the call for proposals
Various events are presented throughout the year by the municipalities and associations of the Oltrepò. Whether they are cultural events, historical re-enactments or sporting events makes little difference since, in all cases, the aims are, on the one hand, to disseminate their traditions and, on the other, to make the territory known. If these are direct effects, there is an indirect one that benefits entrepreneurship. Just think of the restaurateurs, shopkeepers, artisans and those who have their products tasted and then sold. If we were then to add ice cream parlours (in summer) or cafés (in autumn), the scenario expands considerably.
Every event has costs, requires significant economic and financial efforts that can sometimes demotivate the organisers or limit their visibility in terms of marketing or attractive proposals. In order to encourage these events and to facilitate tourist attractiveness, the Lombardy Region has allocated non-repayable grants for the organisation of initiatives and events that make a significant cultural, social, sporting and economic contribution to the development of the Lombardy region and its population. So why not take advantage of it? We will all benefit a little bit.... first and foremost from Oltrepò.
If the objective of one‘s municipal administration or association is to promote the territory nationally and/or internationally through:
- tourist promotion initiatives
- local traditions
- anniversary celebrations
- cultural and sports activities.
then it will be necessary to organise one‘s own ideas, draw up a small (but well-crafted) project and submit an application for a public grant to the Lombardy Region., In this way one will be able to realise events of greater ‘richness‘. highlight the area through initiatives and events at various times of the year, effectively promoting the image of Oltrepò both locally and nationally and/or internationally.
Thanks to these contributions, local administrations can lend a hand in directly promoting the territory and supporting local entrepreneurs who, especially in these times of crisis, need support for their daily efforts. By granting these contributions to applicants, the Lombardy Region wants to intervene in the support of local economies and the economic development of the territory. Taking advantage of this is a moral obligation in favour of our Oltrepò.
