"camminandoInoltrepo" is ready to take us on an exciting adventure through new vistas, breathtaking trails and fascinating itineraries. This time, our route will take us through the picturesque valleys of Rio Marsinola, Rile and Fontanone, immersing us in a journey that embraces the natural beauty and interesting historical heritage of the area.
We will set off from Montù Beccaria - Località dei Beccaria and embark on a journey of approximately 12.35/15.70 kilometres, with an estimated duration of between 2.40 and 3.30 hours. Along the way, we will cross a mixed road and care must be taken if there is mud.
Our route will offer spectacular panoramic views of the hills that stretch between ValVersa and the Bardonezza valley. We will follow Via Marconi and, at no. 8 (yellow house-food store), we will take a tree-lined path to the right, apparently turning back. This cart-track will lead us onto the Sp. 43 road at Casa Bernardini. From here, we will proceed along a track that starts to the left before the sign for Località Castagnola, passing through suggestive places such as San Damiano al C., passing through Località Bergamasco, Maccarone Frati, Poggiolo and Boffalora.
One of our stops will be the centre of San Damiano for a visit to the village and the castle dating back to the 14th-15th centuries, unfortunately used as a private residence. In addition to the castle, we will have the opportunity to admire what remains of the "Rocchetta", also known as the "Corte dei Gatti". Continuing on to Località Casalunga, we will visit the area of the Torre di S. Michele (Az. Agr. Bisi) and then return to the centre to head towards Villa Marone.
We will cross the village, following the ridge first on the level and then downhill, reaching the junction with the road that climbs from Località Braccio. From here, we will take the road to Fontanetto Oriente and, if we still have energy, continue towards Costa Montefedele or Colombaia. When we reach the junction with the Sp.61 road, we will head left in the direction of Montù Beccaria, passing through the vicinity of Località Bosco Negredo, Fornace Negredo and Belvedere, maintaining the direction up to the starting point.
An exciting trip is guaranteed, full of history, breathtaking views and an immersive experience in nature. It is always advisable to prepare properly with the right equipment and enjoy this unique adventure in this beautiful part of the world. Enjoy the hike!
