Every smile is a unique story, a personal work of art that reflects the authentic beauty of the wearer. Dental health goes hand in hand with aesthetics as a bright and healthy smile is the calling card for one‘s self-esteem and well-being.

Today we are talking about Dental Aesthetics with Dr Alessandra Lombardi of Voghera (website link at the end of the page). Anyone of us who has misaligned, yellow, severely damaged or completely missing teeth wishes to have a healthy, harmonious and beautiful smile, but does not know that there are cosmetic dental treatments that can help him achieve his goal.

If you are worried about the price of cosmetic dentistry, you should know that there are several options to suit all budgets.

They can range from simple whitening (home or professional treatment), to restoring the aesthetics of the frontal area compromised by disharmonies, using lithium disilicate dental veneers or replacing missing teeth with osseointegrated implants and Zirconium crowns.

The main aesthetic treatment is dental braces, which can be a traditional orthodontic appliance or a clear aligner. While the former is more suitable for children and adolescents, the latter is preferred in adults. Orthodontic treatment can last from six months to two years or more depending on the severity of the problem.
If the tooth shows blemishes, changes in colour or shape, dental veneers are indicated. These are thin covers of ceramic material that are bonded directly onto the tooth. Tooth filing may or may not be required, in the latter case veneers made of special material that can be bonded to the tooth enamel are used.

Of course, if the tooth has caries or fractures, it is more suitable to protect its structure with full dental crowns.

If, on the other hand, the aesthetic problem concerns the so-called Gummy smile or Cavallino smile, i.e. the presence of gums covering a large part of the teeth in the upper jaw, one can proceed to remove the excess tissue using a laser or scalpel, or alternatively, perform Botox injections to relax the muscles of the upper lip and hide the excess gum. Botox treatment is temporary and should be repeated after about six months.
If the patient has lost one or more teeth and has gaps that affect aesthetics, he or she can replace them with dental implants that are osseointegrated into the maxillary or mandibular bone and provide the basis for screwing in or cementing a dental crown.

If, on the other hand, all teeth are missing, a four-implant-supported prosthesis such as the All-on-4 is the most economical option.

As you can see there are a thousand and one ways to take care of your dental aesthetics, a thousand and one remedies to suit all needs and compatible with all budgets, all you need to do is trust a serious professional in the sector who will know how to advise you for the best, after having carefully assessed the problem through an examination and simple instrumental examinations.
