This winery is growing thanks to the great passion and dedication of those who produce this wine, which brings with it the warmth and tradition of this wonderful land.
The Rocchetta di Mondondone belongs to Stefano Banfi, a man who has always been fascinated by the beauty of nature and who has constantly cultivated the dream of living ‘in its essence‘. This was the reason that drove him to pursue a career as an agrarian surveyor, guided also by a great passion for wine.
This young boy wanted to change his life and realise his dream, and he succeeded by landing here in the Oltrepò Pavese, where he found what is now Rocchetta di Mondondone and thus began his activity.
Today, the company‘s vineyards produce Barbera, Pinot Noir, Croatina, Riesling, Moscato and Cortese. According to the owner, Stefano Banfi, his wines should be a mirror of who he is and what he believes in, hence a man who is comfortable in nature, rough, but gentle, grown in a simple way and without too much conditioning.
La Rocchetta di Mondondone will participate in the ‘50 Sfumature di Pinot Noir‘ event, where it will be possible to taste some of their most renowned labels. Here are the bottles that will be present at the event:
- «Mo Rosa»: is a rosé obtained by the ‘salasso‘ technique from Pinot Noir grapes harvested when fully ripe. It is a wine with a slight natural effervescence, full-bodied, with generous hints of rose, strawberry and raspberry.
- «PNovis»: is a wine born from the spontaneous fermentation of Pinot Noir grapes from the year 2017, which favoured the elegant aromas of the variety that rest on a pleasant, delicate structure.
- «Suavis Noir»: Pinot Noir grapes are selected for its production, which after a period of maturing in French oak barrels, rest for long periods first in steel and then in barrels, before seeing the light again in a new, suave guise.
