An evening of excellence: dinner and presentation of the book on Mario Maffi in Casteggio

On Friday, April 5, 2025, the Lions Club Casteggio Oltrepò opens its doors to a must-attend event for wine lovers, food enthusiasts, and seekers of authentic stories. An exclusive dinner featuring the food and wine excellences of the Oltrepò Pavese region will set the stage for the presentation of the book “Vite Mie – From Vine Cutting to Dithyramb”, the touching biography of oenologist Mario Maffi.

Written by Giovanni Maggi and Fabio Draghi, “Vite Mie” is much more than a simple biography. It is a passionate and sincere narrative of a man who devoted his life to wine and to his land. Mario Maffi shares his journey with depth and authenticity, recounting his personal and professional path through three key words: life, wine, and territory.

For Maffi, wine is not just a product to be tasted, but a symbol of culture, health, art, and economy. A common thread that connects people, stories, and generations—celebrating the richness of the Oltrepò Pavese region.

During the evening, Alberto Rovati, son of the late Edgardo Rovati—the first director of the Oltrepò Pavese Wine Consortium—will also speak. Alberto will recall the deep relationship between his father and Mario Maffi, a bond built on mutual respect, friendship, and key moments shared in the development of the wine-producing region.
