A sweet tribute to one of the most well-known musical icons from Voghera. “Golden Melody” is the name of the new artisanal dessert created by Laura Marchesi (Marchesi di Voghera), made in honor of Fabrizio Poggi, master of the harmonica.

A special event between music and the flavors of Oltrepò

The event took place at Bistrosss, an intimate and welcoming venue in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, during which guests were offered platters filled with genuine cured meats from Valle Staffora (salami, coppa, pancetta) and glasses of Tiamat, the excellent Pinot Noir from the winery Cordero San Giorgio.

At the center of the scene: Fabrizio Poggi, among stories, emotions, and blues notes. A moment of true pride for the territory, which ended with the arrival of the long-awaited dessert dedicated to him.

A dessert that tells the story of the land and the soul of the Blues

“You know how attached I am to my territory,” explained Laura Marchesi during the presentation. “I knew that Fabrizio loves apple pie, simple and authentic, tied to his childhood memories. So I chose to use Golden apples from Val di Nizza, transformed into juice, to create a base that speaks of home.”

But the real poetic touch is the saffron from Mornico Losana:

“I consider it the flower of the Blues. It grows in the dark, in difficult conditions, just like those who started playing Blues, often through hardship. And then it explodes in colors and intense aromas, against the current, as happens in autumn.”

The result is a layered dessert:

  • Sponge cake soaked in Golden apple juice
  • A harmonious saffron cream
  • A crunchy crumble of almonds from Oltrepò Pavese

A spoon dessert that is pure poetry.

Golden Melody: between harmony, memory and identity

The name Golden Melody comes from the sensitivity of poet Angelo Vicini, who accompanied the evening with a poem and a haiku dedicated to the dessert. A tribute to the sound of Fabrizio Poggi’s golden harmonica and to the warmth of home apples.

Another sweet work of art that adds to the ambitious project of pairing a dessert with each famous personality from Voghera, with original creations born from study, passion, and love for the territory.
